Firefighters are among the most at-risk professions for occupational asbestos exposure. And while many believe asbestos to be a hazard of decades ago, the fact is that asbestos still makes up construction components of nearly 80% of homes and other structures built prior to 1980.

Following the attacks of September 11th asbestos and many other harmful substances were released into the air which has subsequently sickened hundreds of first responders and people within the area.
